Vegetation Management Technician
Location: Grass Lake, MI | Cement City, MI | Pullman, MI
Duration: May through October 2026
Position Summary
TradeForce is seeking dependable Vegetation Management Technicians to support seasonal vegetation control operations at multiple project sites throughout Michigan. The ideal candidate will be located near Grass Lake, Cement City, or Pullman to minimize travel requirements.
Technicians will rotate between project sites, typically spending several weeks at each location before moving to the next site and repeating the rotation throughout the season. This is a hands-on, outdoor position responsible for safely maintaining vegetation to support infrastructure reliability, environmental compliance, and overall site safety.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform vegetation control activities including mowing, trimming, brush removal, and general grounds maintenance.
• Inspect work areas to identify vegetation-related hazards and encroachments.
• Safely operate and maintain mowers, trimmers, and other vegetation management equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, including treatment methods, locations, and quantities.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with emergency vegetation response efforts, including storm damage cleanup when needed.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and property owners as required.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, environmental guidelines, and applicable regulations.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in vegetation management, landscaping, forestry, or a related outdoor field preferred.
• Ability to safely operate power tools and landscaping equipment.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Comfortable working around mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Ability to work overtime as needed to support project demands.
Additional Requirements
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
• Must be willing to travel between project sites in Grass Lake, Cement City, and Pullman throughout the duration of the assignment.
